Migration and Asylum Law

Migration law deals with the settlement of companies and private individuals in Switzerland. It regulates issues relating to work and residence permits, settlement permits, family reunification and naturalization.

In connection with migration law, relevant questions include the opening of a Swiss bank account, the choice of a suitable canton and educational institutions, the taxation of companies and private individuals, and more. As this list of examples, which is by no means exhaustive, makes clear, a move to Switzerland is associated with many bureaucratic clarifications and questions for companies and private individuals alike. To keep an overview, it is therefore worthwhile to consult a lawyer for migration law in good time, who will answer all your legal questions, clarify matters and deal with the authorities, and advise you competently and with experience on all legal issues.

Swiss asylum law is in turn based on several laws and decrees, namely the Foreign Nationals Act, the Asylum Act, the Agreement on the Free Movement of Persons as well as other decrees and provisions of the Federal Constitution, the European Convention on Human Rights, the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Dublin System and more. They form the basis for the assessment of rights and obligations in the respective asylum status.

Early consultation with an asylum lawyer is also highly recommended in connection with asylum law issues; after all, the future of the client and his or her entire family may be hanging in the balance. If the necessary steps are taken in good time, worse things can often be avoided.
