Mediation is a type of dispute resolution. Conflicts are resolved constructively within the framework of mediation. During the voluntary and structured process, the parties to the conflict find a consensus with the help of the mediator that corresponds to the interests of all parties. The mediator is an independent third party.

Mediations have the advantage of being a comparatively timely solution to legal conflicts. Thus, costs and energy can also be saved. However, mediations also require a sound expertise, because only then can the mediator successfully mediate in difficult conflict situations.
